Chris Cornell's Daughters Honor Their Dad at Soundgarden's Rock Hall Induction

When Soundgarden entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last weekend, it wasn't just about the music, it was about family. Chris Cornell's daughter Lily delivered a heartfelt speech celebrating her dad not as a rock icon, but as a person who found purpose making music with friends. "At the end of the day, that's what it's all about," she said, honoring both her father and her mother, Susan Silver, who managed the band for decades.
The night's most emotional moment came when Cornell's younger daughter Toni took the stage to perform "Fell on Black Days" with Heart's Nancy Wilson, her voice filling the room as her father's image glowed on the screen behind her. Seven years after his passing, Cornell's legacy lives on through his music and the daughters keeping his memory alive. Watch the video here.🖤

Sam Fender Gives Back to the Venues That Started It All

Sam Fender is putting his Mercury Prize money where his heart is. The North Shields singer-songwriter just donated his £25,000 prize winnings to Music Venue Trust, a charity supporting struggling grassroots venues across the UK. "I wouldn't be doing what I am doing today if it wasn't for all the gigs I played around the north-east when I was starting out," Fender said. "These venues are legendary, but they are struggling."
This isn't Fender's first act of venue love—he previously dropped £100,000 from his 2024 arena tour on MVT, calling it "common sense" to funnel big venue money back to the small rooms that gave him his start. With over 150 grassroots venues closing since 2023, Fender's making sure the next generation has stages to play on. 🎸

Grateful Dead's 2,300+ Shows Were All Unique

The Grateful Dead played over 2,300 concerts, and no two setlists were ever the same. Hardcore fans can identify specific shows just by the songs played that night. The band waited 777 shows to bring back "Box of Rain," and once went 1,588 gigs between performances of "Louie Louie." Their May 8, 1977 Cornell show is considered the holy grail and is now in the Library of Congress National Recording Registry. Deadheads have been obsessively trading tapes and studying these unique setlists since the band created an official taper's section in 1984. Read more here.
