Green Day Fan Booted Off Stage After Playing ‘Wonderwall’ Instead of ‘Good Riddance’

It was supposed to be the ultimate Green Day fan moment—getting invited onstage to play guitar with Billie Joe Armstrong. But for one concertgoer in Luxembourg, the dream turned awkward fast.

As part of their Savior Tour tradition, Green Day closed the night with “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” bringing up a fan to strum along. Armstrong began coaching him on the chords, laughing and saying, “You told me you could play this one!”

But instead of the bittersweet anthem, the fan started strumming Oasis’ Wonderwall. Armstrong’s reaction? A mix of shock and humor. “Are you f–king kidding me?” he said through laughter, then added, “Oh, f–k me!” as he shook his head and reclaimed the guitar.

Security quickly escorted the fan offstage, and Armstrong smoothed things over with the crowd: “Nice try. Nice try.” He then launched into the correct chords, finishing the show himself.

The moment went viral, sparking debate among fans. Some felt the guest ruined a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. “Why do people keep taking these chances away from real Green Day fans?” one commenter asked. Others saw the humor: “It’s like being able to say you rickrolled Green Day live onstage. Iconic.”

It’s not the first chaotic moment of the tour. Just days earlier at Germany’s Hurricane Festival, Armstrong stopped mid-song to call out a fan for spraying him with a water gun. And longtime fans will remember Woodstock ‘94, when a mud fight led to bassist Mike Dirnt getting tackled by security (and losing his front teeth).

Green Day clearly knows how to handle chaos, but one thing’s certain—if you ever get called onstage, stick to the setlist.

đŸ«¶ Artists Doing Good

$404K Raised for Metallica’s AWMH Foundation

A huge congratulations to Luis R. from Monterrey, Mexico, who’s about to live every metalhead’s dream: a side-stage experience at Black Sabbath’s final show in the U.K., with none other than Metallica on the bill. đŸ€˜

Luis and his guest will watch the legends from an exclusive side-stage viewing platform, chill in the pre-show lounge, and score a VIP merch package worthy of the heavy metal gods themselves.

The sweepstakes, run by Fandiem, gave fans the chance to win while supporting a great cause—and together, they raised a staggering $404,000 for Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation (AWMH). The funds will go toward supporting sustainable communities worldwide—because nothing’s heavier than lifting people up.

This isn’t just a victory for Luis; it’s a win for communities across the globe. Metallica and Black Sabbath aren’t just writing history on stage—they’re rewriting what it means to give back. đŸ–€

Dave Grohl once broke his leg mid-show
 and kept playing.

On June 12, 2015, during a Foo Fighters show in Gothenburg, Sweden, Dave Grohl fell off stage mid-“Monkey Wrench” and snapped his fibula. After having his ankle popped back into place with a roll of gauze in his mouth, Grohl kept his promise to the 52,000 fans—returning to finish the set seated, leg wrapped, and screaming through the pain.

The fallout? A now-iconic guitar throne for the rest of the tour and a 2018 prank at the same stadium where a stunt double faked another fall before Grohl burst onstage laughing. As he put it: “This might seem like a bad thing. But, you know what? I think this might be the best night of the whole f**king tour.”
